South Africa’s Banyana Banyana ended Nigeria’s Super Falcon’s hopes of reaching the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, beating the Falcons 2-1 in a World Cup Qualification play-off at Stade Moulay Rachid in Casablanca.

Recall that both sides had been knocked out in the WAFCON 2026 quarter-finals leaving the winner of Thursday’s meeting to advance into the six-team FIFA Inter-Confederation play-off tournament, the final route to Brazil 2027.
