President Approves New Military Salary Structure
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new salary structure for personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, raising monthly earnings across all ranks. According to the details released on Monday, salary increase ranges between 30 and 80 percent, with junior officers and non-commissioned personnel receiving the highest percentage increase.
Under the new arrangement, the highest-ranking General will earn approximately N3.25m monthly, while personnel from Private to Staff Sergeant ranks will benefit from an eighty percent increase. The review also includes improved allowances and welfare packages.
Government officials say the move is aimed at boosting morale among military personnel and strengthening the country’s security architecture. The new salary structure is expected to take effect from the first of September this year.
