The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has criticised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for allocating the historic Old Parade Ground in Abuja to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the construction of its new national secretariat.
Describing the decision as the “height of executive recklessness and abuse of power,” the SDP urged President Bola Tinubu to reverse the allocation in the interest of national heritage.
The party stressed that the Old Parade Ground, which predates the construction of Eagle Square, is a national monument of great historical significance and should be preserved for future generations.
