ASUU Urges FG to Meet Demands to Avert Crisis

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on Nigerians to pressure the federal government to accede to its demands to prevent disruption in the university system.

ASUU’s Ibadan Zonal Coordinator, Prof. Biodun Olaniran, speaking at a press conference in Ibadan on Monday, criticised the stagnation of members’ salaries for 16 years despite the 2009 renegotiated agreement that required periodic reviews every three years.

The Ibadan zone of ASUU includes the University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Osun State University, Kwara State University, and Emmanuel Alayande University of Education.
