The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied allegations that its recent sting operation in Abeokuta targeted the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL).
OOPL’s management had accused the EFCC of a calculated attack on ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo after 93 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested at a guest facility within its premises. They demanded ₦3.5 billion in compensation and a public apology.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, clarified that the arrests occurred at a hotel within the precincts of the library, not at the library itself.
