US, EU Agree on 15% Tariff Deal, Averting Trade War

The United States and the European Union have reached a trade agreement just days before an August 1 deadline that could have triggered a transatlantic trade war.

The deal, announced after a private meeting in Scotland between US President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, includes a 15% tariff on most European goods, down from the proposed 30%. It marks one of Trump’s most significant trade deals to date.
